Body Posture

 

The term posture refers to the way we carry and shape our bodies, which means the general shape of the body. The way the body can give an impression of what a person feels and what is inside. For example, if the person is sitting straight, it gives the impression that he is enjoying the conversation and gives the impression of confidence and interest, but if the person is sitting with a slight bend in the back, it gives the impression of boredom and lack of interest.


There are two types of body posture. First: the open body posture: is that the body is imposed and visible, and this gives the impression of openness, friendliness and readiness. There is another type: the closed body position: which is that the body is not visible, meaning that the arms are closed, and there is also a slight bend in the back and this gives the impression of aggression, violence and lack of affection.


There is a term called proxemics, this term refers to the distance between people during their interaction and talk with each other, this also can transfer feelings and information between people. There are 4 types of distances First, the intimate distance: This distance refers to the comfort between people and how close they are to each other, such as cuddling, whispering or touching. The distance is between 6 to 18 inches. Second, the personal distance: usually this distance is between relatives, friends and people who are there Between them there is trust or personal acquaintance and the distance is between 1.5 to 4 feet. Third, the social distance: it is usually between colleagues or people we meet more than once during the week and it is between 4 to 12 inches. Fourth, the public distance: this space is used when we speak with a large number of people such as fans or students, this distance is between 12 to 25 feet. Personal distances vary between each individual and between each culture and the other.


There are types of body posture, first, the front head position: this position includes that the head is neutral to the ear and the two are neutral to the spine straight with the shoulders. This lead to on a slight bend and this leads to premature aging. There is a second type, called kyphosis: this means an exaggerated curvature in the upper back where the shoulder is visible forward and it is called (hunchback). osteoporosis can cause the bones of the spine to weaken, and it appears especially in elderly women, and there are children who have hunchback due to polio, Scheunemann's disease, chemotherapy or infection. The third type, called Swayback: It is called (lordosis) and this occurs when the hips and pelvis tilt forward and the lower back is exaggeratedly curved, with the emergence of the stomach and may be caused by obesity, neuromuscular conditions or spinal deformities. There are other types of body posture.

 You can manipulate the posture of the body by changing the seat and the way we sit, and changing the way we hold and watch the cell phone.
