Body Posture
The term posture refers to the way we carry and shape our
bodies, which means the general shape of the body. The way the body can give an
impression of what a person feels and what is inside. For example, if the
person is sitting straight, it gives the impression that he is enjoying the
conversation and gives the impression of confidence and interest, but if the
person is sitting with a slight bend in the back, it gives the impression of
boredom and lack of interest.
There are two types of body posture. First: the open body
posture: is that the body is imposed and visible, and this gives the impression
of openness, friendliness and readiness. There is another type: the closed body
position: which is that the body is not visible, meaning that the arms are
closed, and there is also a slight bend in the back and this gives the
impression of aggression, violence and lack of affection.
There is a term called proxemics, this term refers to the
distance between people during their interaction and talk with each other, this
also can transfer feelings and information between people. There are 4 types of
distances First, the intimate distance: This distance refers to the comfort
between people and how close they are to each other, such as cuddling,
whispering or touching. The distance is between 6 to 18 inches. Second, the
personal distance: usually this distance is between relatives, friends and
people who are there Between them there is trust or personal acquaintance and
the distance is between 1.5 to 4 feet. Third, the social distance: it is

distance is between 12 to 25 feet. Personal distances vary between each
individual and between each culture and the other.
There are types of body posture, first, the front head position: this position includes that the head is neutral to the ear and the two are neutral to the spine straight with the shoulders. This lead to on a slight bend and this leads to premature aging. There is a second type, called kyphosis: this means an exaggerated curvature in the upper back where the shoulder is visible forward and it is called (hunchback). osteoporosis can cause the bones of the spine to weaken, and it appears especially in elderly women, and there are children who have hunchback due to polio, Scheunemann's disease, chemotherapy or infection. The third type, called Swayback: It is called (lordosis) and this occurs when the hips and pelvis tilt forward and the lower back is exaggeratedly curved, with the emergence of the stomach and may be caused by obesity, neuromuscular conditions or spinal deformities.
